It hurts me a little to sell this horn as it was my personal horn as well as my first baritone sax. I am selling it because it I came across a Conn New Wonder II that I like just a little better. But trust me, it’s close. It took me weeks to decide. The serial number (186K) dates it to 1953. It still has the original lacquer at about 85% ish. When I bought the horn it still had most of the original pads, but I did a complete overhaul during the pandemic. The pads are still in excellent condition and have a lot of life left. There are very few prior repairs. The low C key guard was pushed in at some point in its 72 years, and the cork end of the neck split, but has been repaired and is air tight. The neck strap ring is also very worn. I wanted to preserve the original lacquer, so I repaired it with JB weld. This did not latter to me much because I use a clip on strap that does not use a hook. Other than that, there have been a few minor dings but no major dents. This horn is probably one of the best remaining Martin bari’s on the planet and it plays like a beast. It come with the original case (also in excellent condition), end plug, mouthpiece and accessories bag. It even has what might be the original leather neck strap!! These horns are known for their incredible sound, some say they are the best sounding vintage bari’s!!. I will even offer a 1 year warranty with the horn. Due to the size and weight, we will have to chat if you wish to have it shipped.
