Selmer Super “Balanced” Action Alto Saxophone

This is an early SBA and one of the first to be shipped to Canada. The serial number 339XX (1947) even puts it before the tenor SBA started. This alto was professionally played by a member of the RCAF Jazz Band for years. He took very good care of the horn as it is a straight as the day it was made with no major dents, damage or resolders. There were a couple of minor dings, but they have been rectified. The lacquer is not original , but there are no signs of buffing as the engraving still has all of its fine details. This is what I call a “respray”. There are a few runs in the lacquer, but the job was done a long time ago and it has aged noticeably. The neck is in excellent condition with no signs of a pull down. The horn has been given a complete mechanical overhaul with all new Pisoni pads and re-usable Tenor Madness solid brass resonators. The keywork has been tightened up and it plays as well or better than when it was new. It comes with the original case (with slip cover) and end cap.
